India to demand action against Sikh radicals

Reports indicate that Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishakar and the country’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval have been formulating tough diplomatic measures against UK and Canada

The Indian government is set to take a tougher diplomatic position to drive home its message to UK and Canada that anti-India activities of radical Sikhs and Muslim organisations living in the two western countries need to be curbed, reported indianarrative.com.

Reports indicate that Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishakar and the country’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval have been formulating tough diplomatic measures against UK and Canada. The stand will make it clear to both countries that Delhi means business and concrete steps have to be taken to put an end to anti-India activities.

It may be pointed out that the political leadership in UK and Canada have not done anything to stop extremist Sikh groups. In fact, both countries have been allowing these groups to collect funds to fuel a separatist movement against India. According to reports, Delhi has demanded answers from Canada for hate crimes against Indians and anti-India activities being carried out in Canadian territory.

Delhi has also lodged a strong protest with the UK authorities over the incidents of graffiti on Hindu temples and symbols in Leicester and also expressed its displeasure to Canada as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did not do anything to stop the illegal “referendum” on Khalistan in Brampton on September 18, conducted by the banned Sikhs for Justice.

In fact, Trudeau had replied to the letter sent to him by India on September 16 which asked him to take action against the SFJ. The Canadian Prime Minister replied that in Canada people were free to express their views and beliefs in a peaceful manner and that no action could be taken against them till they created a law and order problem.
