Indian Consulates urge diaspora to register at Global Pravasi Rishta portal

The new portal ‘Global Pravasi Rishta’ and mobile App were launched in December to connect with the Indian Diaspora across the world.

Some Indian consulates have called upon the Indian diaspora to register at Global Pravasi Rishta portal, an online platform launched recently by the Indian government to cater to the diaspora in tough times including the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Indian consulate in Toronto issued reached to the Indian diaspora through its social media platforms and urged them to register at the portal launched by the Indian External Affairs ministry last December for connecting Indians scattered across the globe.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai also advised all Indians living in the UAE to register their details on the portal.

 

The Pravasi Rishta Portal will send emergency alerts and important information to Indians registered with the portal.

 

The new portal ‘Global Pravasi Rishta’ and mobile App were launched in December by the Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan to connect with the Indian Diaspora across the world.

At the time of launch the minister said, “The portal will act as a dynamic communication platform between our pravasis, the Ministry of External Affairs and missions abroad and will help in engaging Indian diaspora more intensively.”

The Pravasi Rishta Portal will send emergency alerts and important information to Indians registered with the portal.

In its Tweet the Indian Consulate in Dubai said, “Global Pravasi Rishta Portal — an interactive platform, has been launched by Ministry of External Affairs, India to facilitate communication with the Indian diaspora.”
