Crime analysts note that violent carjackings in urban business corridors have risen in several American cities over the past year

Authorities have urged anyone with information about the suspects or suspicious activity near the complex to contact investigators immediately
A 38-year-old Indian-origin technology consultant was killed in a suspected carjacking outside a corporate office complex near Seattle, with US authorities confirming the incident within the past 24 hours. Investigators believe the victim was attacked while attempting to enter his vehicle after leaving work late Tuesday evening.
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses reported hearing an altercation followed by gunshots in the parking structure of the business park. Emergency responders reached the scene within minutes, but the victim died before he could be transported to hospital. Authorities said the suspects fled in another vehicle, and a regional alert has been issued.

“We are actively pursuing multiple leads and working to establish whether the victim was specifically targeted or randomly attacked during an attempted vehicle theft,” an investigating officer stated
The incident has shaken the Indian professional community in Washington state, particularly employees in the technology sector who often work extended hours. Several Indian associations have called for increased security in commercial districts and better lighting in corporate parking areas. “This tragedy has deeply unsettled working professionals,” said a community coordinator based in Bellevue.
The Indian Consulate in San Francisco has confirmed that it is in contact with local authorities and the victim’s family. Colleagues described the consultant as a respected professional who had been living in the United States for nearly a decade.
