Munich, the capital of Bavaria, and Bengaluru, the Indian metropolis, will be connected by Lufthansa Group starting on November 4, 2023. Bengaluru is the third Indian city that visitors may reach directly through Lufthansa’s five-star Munich hub, after Delhi and Mumbai.  Bengaluru, a center of the aerospace industry and an IT powerhouse, is the third-largest city in India.

By January 2024, the Lufthansa Group—which has a more than 90-year history in India—will be running 64 weekly frequencies between India and Europe. The third-largest aviation market in the world right now is found in India.

The Lufthansa Group’s capacity to India now surpasses pre-Covid levels, demonstrating the airline’s strong commitment to the Indian market through this Bengaluru-Munich service.

Commenting on the new service, George Ettiyil, Senior Director, South Asia, Lufthansa Group, said, “With India’s economy expanding at an incredible rate, this is an extremely exciting time to be in the country. By 2030, it is expected to rise from its current position as the fifth largest economy to the third rank. We have been invested in India for more than 90 years and when looking for our first new APAC destination since the pandemic, Bengaluru was a natural fit.”

Currently operating thrice-weekly and conveniently arriving the same day at 8:05 in Munich, Lufthansa guests will enjoy their experience on one of the most modern and fuel-efficient long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900. As with all services to India, local cuisine and catering will be offered to passengers onboard their direct service from India’s “Silicon Valley” to Munich and beyond.
