MCC Releases NRI Eligibility List for Round 1 NEET UG Counselling 2026

732 candidates have been provisionally found eligible for conversion to the NRI category after document verification

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the list of candidates provisionally eligible for conversion from the Indian category to the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) category for Round 1 of NEET UG counselling for the 2026-27 academic year.

The list, issued after scrutiny of documents submitted to the MCC under the Directorate General of Health Services, contains the names and NEET UG roll numbers of candidates whose NRI claims have been accepted provisionally. A total of 732 candidates have been included.

  • The NRI eligibility list is relevant to candidates seeking admission to undergraduate medical courses through the MCC counselling process

  • The provisional category conversion determines the category under which eligible candidates can be considered during seat allotment

MCC has clarified the NRI eligibility process through notices and documents issued as part of the 2026-27 counselling cycle. The committee’s current UG counselling portal lists the NRI eligibility notice alongside the Round 1 counselling schedule and seat matrix for MBBS, BDS and other participating courses.

Candidates included in the list are required to follow the prescribed counselling and admission procedures and meet applicable document requirements. The NRI conversion should not be confused with seat allotment; inclusion in the list establishes eligibility for consideration under the NRI category rather than guaranteeing admission to a particular college or course.

The release comes as MCC proceeds with Round 1 of NEET UG counselling. The committee has also issued revised counselling schedules and provisional results as part of the ongoing admission process.

For candidates and families living overseas, the NRI category can be significant because it affects eligibility and participation in seats designated under applicable NRI provisions.

Candidates should check the MCC’s official counselling portal for the latest notices, schedules, seat matrices and instructions before taking further action.
