Leaders discuss economic cooperation, investment and regional collaboration during G7 Summit engagement
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held discussions on strengthening bilateral ties during meetings held on the sidelines of the G7 Summit.
The leaders reviewed progress in the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE and explored opportunities for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technology and infrastructure development.
The UAE remains one of India’s most important partners in the Gulf region and hosts a large Indian expatriate population. Bilateral relations have deepened significantly in recent years through economic agreements, energy cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration across sectors of mutual interest
The meeting is particularly significant for the Indian community in the UAE, which forms one of the largest expatriate populations in the country. Strong bilateral ties have contributed to increased investment flows, business opportunities and labour mobility.
Economic cooperation between the two nations has expanded rapidly following the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which has boosted trade volumes and commercial engagement.
Analysts believe continued high-level engagement reflects the strategic importance both countries attach to the relationship and signals further cooperation in areas ranging from technology and renewable energy to logistics and financial services.
