The event has become one of the largest celebrations of Indian heritage in Romania, reflecting growing cultural ties between the two countries.

Also taking place this weekend is the Sânziene Fair, inspired by Romania’s midsummer traditions. The annual celebration marks the Sânziene holiday, a folk festival associated with nature, folklore and local crafts. Visitors can explore artisan products, traditional costumes and cultural performances that highlight Romania’s rural heritage.

  • The concentration of festivals and cultural gatherings reflects Romania’s active summer events calendar, which combines international influences with long-standing local traditions

  • Tourism officials and organisers expect strong attendance as residents and visitors take advantage of the warm weather and extensive programme of activities

In the central city of Sibiu, the internationally recognised Sibiu International Theatre Festival continues to attract performers and audiences from around the world. The event features theatre productions, street performances, music, dance and cultural exhibitions, reinforcing Sibiu’s reputation as one of Eastern Europe’s leading cultural destinations.

Bucharest is also hosting a range of musical events, including summer concerts, opera and ballet performances. According to event organisers, audiences can enjoy a diverse programme featuring Romanian and international artists throughout the weekend.

With Indian cultural celebrations, traditional Romanian fairs and world-class performing arts all taking place simultaneously, the weekend offers a broad showcase of the country’s cultural diversity and creative energy.
