The concept of United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Golden Visa is picking up fast among the Non-Resident-Indians, as many have opted for it and they are getting favourable response from the UAE authorities.
The latest among the list of NRIs are Dr Shyam Vishwanathan Pillai and Dr Jasna Jamal. Both from Indian state of Kerala, were granted Golden Visas by the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), Khaleej Times reported.
Both the recipients are Ayurvedic doctors.
The Golden Visas are special visas that are issued based on credentials of a candidate.
According to UAE Immigration Information sources, “In 2019, the UAE implemented a new system for long-term residence visas. The new system enables foreigners to live, work, and study in the UAE without a national sponsor and 100 per cent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland. These visas will be issued for 5 or 10 years and will be renewed automatically.”
Just a couple of days ago, Vedanta Barua, a native of the Indian state of Assam and an entrepreneur got a Golden Visa in business category.
The latest among the list of NRIs are Dr Shyam Vishwanathan Pillai and Dr Jasna Jamal. Both are from Indian state of Kerala
With this, he happens to be the first Assamese to get this visa.
Some students also procured Golden visa.
Last month Tasneem Aslam, an Indian student, got UAE Golden Visa based on her merit and excellent academic credentials.
Tasneem is studying Islamic Sharia at Al Qasimia University in Sharjah. She scored a GPA of 3.94 on 4 of 4.
In her comments to told Khaleej Times, she said, “This is one of the best moments in my life. I feel privileged to achieve this and I am thankful to Almighty Allah. My parents ‘support has been enormous, and Insha Allah I hope to sponsor them in the near future.
