Air India opens GDS for Australia

Trade associations in the travel and tourism sector in Ahmedabad have decided to continue their agitation till access for the Canada seats is also restored for Indian agents to book through the GDS

Air India has opened the GDS access for the seats on the India-Australia route for Indian agents. Incidentally, the India-Canada seats are still not available for Indian agents. Trade associations in the travel and tourism sector in Ahmedabad have decided to continue their agitation till access for the Canada seats is also restored for Indian agents to book through the GDS.

In case the access is denied, Bajaj said that the trade had called for a day-long dharna in front of the Air India office on March 29 and will go ahead with it.

The removal of the restriction on Australian tickets is a “fruitful outcome”, according to Ankit Bajaj, General Secretary of the TAFI Gujarat Chapter. He said that the trade associations had decided to agitate in front of the Air India office in Ahmedabad as planned.

Around 50 people are supposed to march to the Air India office to submit a memorandum to the Air India officials in Ahmedabad. “We are hopeful that the Air India management will accede to our demand and open the access for the Canada services as well,” he said. In case the access is denied, Bajaj said that the trade had called for a day-long dharna in front of the Air India office on March 29 and will go ahead with it.
