In a salutary and beneficial move for low-cost travellers from abroad, AirAsia X (AAX) announced its comeback to the skies. The carrier has undergone a revamp with fresh branding. The airline announced new flights after a two-year-long gap. The carrier will fly three new long-haul routes with maiden flights to Istanbul and Dubai and relaunch flights to London this year.

At the same time, the airline celebrated the launch of four new routes to Japan and Hawaii which are all on sale from June 15. The resumption of four popular medium-haul routes and the announcement of services to London, Istanbul, and Dubai marks a significant milestone for the airline.

AAX is now offering flights across seven routes from Kuala Lumpur to New Delhi, Sydney, Seoul (Incheon), Tokyo (Haneda), Sapporo (Chitose), Osaka (Kansai), and from Osaka (Kansai) to Honolulu. All of these routes are on sale from June 26, for travel between July 1 to March 26, 2023, reported ETTravelWorld.

“We can look forward to gradually bringing our valued pilots and cabin crew who were on furlough back. I am confident all of our resumed or new services will prove to be very popular and that we will return to pre-Covid capacity on some of our core routes within the next 12 months.”

CEO of AirAsia X, Benyamin Ismail, said, “We are back, better, and stronger than ever. We have spent the downtime in flying reviewing every aspect of the operation to deliver even greater value and choice for medium and long-haul travel. Now that international borders are reopening across the world, we can resume operations to our most popular destinations including Australia, Japan, Hawaii, India, and South Korea first. We have many more destinations in the pipeline which we will announce soon, to meet strong pent-up demand.”
