Canada has expanded off-campus work hour limits for international students, including a large number from India, with the policy change confirmed within the past 24 hours. The measure is intended to address labour shortages while providing students with greater financial flexibility.
Indian students, who form a significant portion of Canada’s international student population, are expected to benefit from increased earning opportunities. Many rely on part-time work to manage living expenses and gain professional experience.
Educational institutions have welcomed the move but emphasised the importance of maintaining academic performance. “Students must strike a balance between work and studies,” an academic advisor noted.
